• When is National History Day?

Museums, Libraries and Archives

Museums, libraries, historical societies and archives use National History Day to expand or enhance their outreach programs by sponsoring NHD workshops and contests. Many institutions find that NHD increases the number of volunteers, reinvigorates staff members by putting them in contact with enthusiastic students, creates higher attendance and usage of resources and increases organizational memberships.

"Because National History Day students have to research, analyze and organize the information and present it to the public in creative ways, they gain a better understanding of our resources than many of the people on our staff."
