Research Roadmap


Like professional historians, National History Day students must ask questions about a topic's significance in history. You must conduct background research using secondary sources to understand the context of your topic and you must creatively interpret primary sources to answer questions about your research topics.


NHD has created a roadmap to help guide you through the process of historical research.
